Full Job Description

Business Development Manager / Sr. Manager (CRO)

Location: Boston, MA (Remote/Hybrid)
Employment Type: 6-month Contract with potential conversion to a regular full-time position based on business needs and individual performance.

The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and expanding C&R Research's presence within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device industries. This role partners closely with operational and scientific teams to develop customized clinical research solutions for prospective clients.

Key Responsibilities

Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities within the CRO market.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device companies.
Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation through proposal development, contract negotiation, and project award.
Collaborate with clinical operations and scientific teams to prepare client proposals, budgets, and capability presentations.
Represent C&R Research at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings.
Conduct client needs assessments and recommend appropriate clinical development solutions.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging industry opportunities.
Support strategic initiatives that strengthen C&R Research's business growth in North America.
Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline updates to leadership.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, Business, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of business development, sales, account management, or client-facing commercial experience within the CRO, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device industry.
Demonstrated success in developing client relationships and achieving business growth objectives.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
Ability to work independently in a remote and collaborative environment.

Preferred

Existing network within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
Understanding of clinical development processes and global clinical research.
Experience preparing proposals, budgets, and contract documents.

Travel

Willingness to travel up to 50% for client meetings, conferences, and industry events.

Compensation Range: $ 130K - $ 155K per year (annualized), commensurate with experience.
