Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and professional Non-Medical Transportation Provider to facilitate safe and reliable transportation for individuals with developmental disabilities. Transportation providers are responsible for the safe driving of company owned and leased vehicles, as well as the provision of safe passenger assistance and the transportation of passengers to and from their homes.

Duties

Responsible for the safe driving and operation of all company owned and leased vehicles. Commutes consist of rural and urban areas, highway and country and possible multiple county routes.
Responsible for the safe passenger assistance of individuals accessing transportation, assisting individuals getting on/off vehicle, using wheelchair ramps, using wheelchair lifts, securing wheelchairs in place, moving wheelchairs, etc.
Responsible for the provision of emergency treatment activity in case of any vehicle, accident, medical, behavioral, or inclement weather emergency should take place.
Responsible for sound judgment and decision making while driving company owned and leased vehicles, assisting individuals and monitoring for health and safety.
Provide transportation pick up service of individuals from their homes and deliver them to program site(s).
Provide transportation drop of service of individuals from their program site(s) and return to their homes.
May be required to provide transportation for additional trips into community settings.
Responsible for the enforcement and observance of all Ohio Revised Code Section 5123.62 Bill of Rights in accordance with applicable laws and ISS’ policies.
Monitor for incidents adversely affecting health and safety and report any MUI or UI to the Program Director and/or the agency's MUI contact person and document any incidents as required.
Commitment to consistently engage, interact and communicate with individuals in a nurturing, supportive and safe way while transporting.
While operating company owned and leased vehicle, comply with all local, state, federal laws and regulations.
Follow and adhere to all agency policies and procedures regarding transportation services.
Attend and participate in initial, annual and ongoing training(s) [Orientation, Transportation Training] as directed by Program Director.
Operate company owned and leased vehicles and vehicle property [i.e., two way communication] for official company business only.
Maintain vehicle in clean and safe manner, assure passenger property is secure, and assure First Aid kit, fire extinguisher, and other necessary equipment is available.
Report any accidents, problems, damages, or other issues with this vehicle immediately to your supervisor.
Complete daily paperwork to maintain compliance and reimbursement requirements of DODD and agency policies.
Demonstrate good time management to adhere to transportation schedules and routes. Follow routes and procedures developed by Program Director.
Provide other services or duties as assigned by Program Director.
Represent the agency in a professional manner at all times.

Requirements

(Preferred) experience working with special-needs populations.
High School graduate/GED and at least 21 years of age.
Successful completion of State and FBI background checks, including employment references, the DODD Abuser Registry, Nurse Aide Registry, Inspector General Registry, Offender Registry, System for Award Management Registry, and Ohio Corrections Database.
Complete testing for controlled substances by a laboratory certified for such testing and be determined to be drug free prior to providing services. In addition a Controlled Substance and alcohol testing will be required shall occur within 10 hours following any motor vehicle accident while services are being provided.
Valid First Aid and CPR certification and update as required.
Completion of examination and a provision of a signed statement from a licensed physician declaring there is no medical condition, physical condition including uncorrected vision and/or hearing impairment or a mental condition which could interfere with safe driving or passenger assistance, the provision of emergency treatment activity or could jeopardize the health or welfare of individuals being transported.
Meet all requirements of ISS’ insurance carriers. Must report any driving infraction changes immediately to supervisor.
Skills in the areas of interpersonal relationships, flexibility, problem solving, and demonstration of good common sense.
Evidence of knowledge in record keeping and report writing.
Evidence of personal vehicle insurance.
Valid Driver’s License.
Meet all I-9 employment eligibility requirements.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job, with or without accommodation.
