INSURANCE MAXIMIZATION SPECIALIST

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Maximization Specialist to serve as the frontline expert and primary point of contact for our Members’ dental insurance needs. In this versatile, high-impact role, you will triage customer inquiries, provide expert guidance on credentialing, contracting, and claims, train practices on our programs and tools, and manage key components of our UCR Max fee optimization program. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in dental insurance, a consultative and customer service mindset, and a genuine passion for helping independent dental practices thrive.

Key Responsibilities

First Contact & Customer Service

Serve as the first point of contact for members via phone, web, text, and email.
Answer questions regarding insurance processes, carrier issues, contracting, and claims.
Triage and respond to inquiries to assess insurance needs and route customers to the appropriate resource or team member as needed.
Provide internal and external resources to help members resolve issues efficiently.
Refer customer to other departments and services based on their needs.

Carrier Partner Escalations

Interface directly with Carrier partners to manage and resolve credentialing and contracting escalations on behalf of Member practices.

Training & Member Education

Train new customers on how to utilize our insurance resources, programs, and products.
Provide retraining for existing customers on updated programs or processes.

Carrier Outreach

Verify provider participation status with insurance carriers as needed.

Dental Insurance Expertise & Problem Solving

Act as a subject matter expert in dental insurance credentialing and contracting.
Provide expertise with dental procedure coding, claim submission and insurance processing at the practice level.
Serve as the first line of defense for problem-solving member insurance questions and escalations across the Insurance Maximization team.

UCR Max Program Management

Serve as the team’s point person for the UCR Max (full fee analysis) program, including onboarding, member training, issue resolution, and consulting.
Maintain and update the national UCR fee database every six months.
Manage user access and administration for the UCR Max platform.

Qualifications

Required Experience

3+ years of experience in dental insurance credentialing, billing, and contracting.
Experience working with dental insurance carriers and navigating carrier portals.
Experience in multi-provider or multi-practice environments preferred.
Background in dental practice management and front-office operations.

Technical & Industry Expertise

Comprehensive knowledge of dental insurance credentialing, contracting, and claims processes.
Familiarity with CAQH and Carrier credentialing portals.
Strong understanding of UCR fees, fee schedules, and PPO reimbursement structures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and CRM/database tools.
Dental practice management software experience: Dentrix, OpenDental, Eaglesoft, Curve.
