Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our supply chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing procurement activities, sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely acquisition of materials and services necessary for manufacturing operations. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment utilizing advanced ERP systems and procurement tools to optimize supply chain efficiency and support organizational goals.

Duties

Manage end-to-end procurement processes including sourcing, purchasing, and contract management.
Utilize ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to execute procurement transactions, track orders, and maintain accurate records.
Conduct supplier evaluations, develop supplier relationships, and oversee supplier management to ensure quality and reliability.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
Collaborate with manufacturing and production planning teams to align procurement activities with demand forecasts and MRP schedules.
Perform category management and strategic sourcing to optimize procurement categories and reduce supply chain risks.
Conduct root cause analysis for supply disruptions or quality issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with federal regulations such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and company policies during procurement activities.
Monitor market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply chain dynamics to inform sourcing strategies.
Support logistics, materials management, and inventory control efforts to streamline operations.

Experience

Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or supply chain environments.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms.
Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, sourcing strategies, and supplier relationship management.
Familiarity with procurement best practices including category management, contract management, and supply chain optimization.
Experience working with MRP systems, production planning tools, and logistics coordination is preferred.
Knowledge of federal acquisition regulations (FAR) is a plus.
Excellent negotiation skills coupled with analytical abilities for root cause analysis and problem-solving.
Prior experience in manufacturing environments involving materials management, quality assurance, and pricing strategies is highly desirable.
