Full Job Description

Associate Technical Designer

PAR Apparel is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Associate Technical Designer to join our growing team. This role is responsible for managing garment fit, specs, tech packs, and communication with overseas factories to support the development process from concept through production.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and experienced working with major retailers such as Ross, Bealls Outlet, and Burlington. Kidswear fit experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain daily email communication with overseas vendors and clients with same-day response expectations
Review samples prior to customer submission to ensure fit and construction accuracy
Create and maintain Points of Measure (POMs)
Partner with pattern makers and graders to complete garment specifications in GBP
Build and update detailed tech packs including construction details, trims, labels, and sewing instructions
Release final patterns, specs, pattern cards, construction details, trims, and label placements to factories
Send fit comments and approvals to factories in a timely manner
Attend internal fittings and participate in client Zoom fittings as needed
Track sample status weekly with internal teams and overseas factories
Troubleshoot fit, construction, and production issues and communicate solutions quickly
Escalate approval delays or technical concerns to the SVP of Technical Design when necessary
Collaborate closely with design, production, and overseas partners to maintain timelines

Qualifications

2+ years of Technical Design experience in apparel
Experience working with Ross, Bealls Outlet, and/or Burlington preferred
Kidswear fit experience is a plus
Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and specs
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
