Program Director, Kids Helping Kids AND fully paid for summer trips to Bali, Indonesia

Organization: Education Rocks

Location: South Florida (with local school travel + international travel to Bali)

Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (Flexible based on candidate)

About Education Rocks

Education Rocks is a nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through education. Through our Kids Helping Kids program, students in the U.S. raise funds to sponsor the education of students in developing countries—while building meaningful relationships through letter writing and shared experiences.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and people-oriented Program Manager to take full ownership of our core program, Kids Helping Kids.

This role is responsible for managing program operations, supporting school-based clubs, ensuring fundraising and letter-writing accountability, and serving as the in-person representative of Education Rocks at school meetings and on our international “Walk in Their Shoes” (WITS) trip.

This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who thrives in both operations and relationship-building, and is excited to play a key role in a growing nonprofit.

Key Responsibilities

Program Operations & Accountability

Manage sponsor onboarding, pairing, and program participation
Track fundraising progress and ensure completion of $365 commitments
Monitor and enforce student letter-writing deadlines (Oct, Dec, Feb, Apr)
Maintain accurate program records and coordinate with portal/tech support as needed

School & Club Engagement

Attend school meetings and support club presidents and advisors
Assist with club launches, kickoff meetings, and student engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for participating schools

Communication & Support

Respond to student, parent, and advisor inquiries
Proactively follow up on missing fundraising or letters
Support students in successfully completing program requirements

Walk in Their Shoes (WITS) Trip

Attend and represent Education Rocks on the annual Bali trip (June)
Support students and families throughout the experience
Ensure smooth execution of programming on the ground

Merchandise & Logistics

Coordinate ordering of program and WITS t-shirts
Manage sizing collection, ordering timelines, and distribution to schools and travelers

Reporting & Internal Coordination

Participate in weekly check-ins with Executive Director
Provide updates on program performance, challenges, and progress
Track and report on key metrics (fundraising completion, participation, engagement)

Qualifications

Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Comfortable working with students, parents, and school administrators
Ability to manage multiple moving parts and meet deadlines
Proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Willingness to travel locally to schools and internationally (Bali trip)
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Preferred Experience

Background in education, nonprofit work, or youth programs
Experience in program coordination, event planning, or operations
Experience working with schools or student organizations

Compensation

Full-Time: A range between $55,000 $65,000 annually with growth opportunities
Travel expenses for Walk in Their Shoes trip to Bali Indonesia covered
Gas reimbursement provided on days with significant travel to schools and meetings

100% of students complete fundraising commitments
Strong participation and engagement across school clubs
Timely completion of all letter-writing cycles
Positive relationships with students, parents, and school partners
Smooth execution of program logistics and events
