What is the best part of working at the company?
It's right down the street from my home. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not having hours, having 4 days off, having to pickup other slack at work then still do my work. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company is great. It's the workers, and the energy at the worksite that sometimes make it unbearable. I'm dishwasher. We get treated the worst in there. Some people help but it's rare. The environment is pretty fast paced, dark. Its kind of bad/club-ish

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day is me clocking in at work at 5pm. Then I stay on the dishwasher till about 2am. My other coworker will disappear for about 25 mins a few times per shift. After all the dishes are done we go home.

Managers have their favorites and make sure they make the most money. Everyone else just fits in where they can. It’s not a hard place to work just annoying. Seeing all of your tips going to people who polish spoons all day is demoralizing. If you make 400 you might walk out with 200 because server assistants get paid the same as servers. So we pay their wage not the restaurant. If you’re cool with that then you’ll love it here. 

Management could use an extra class or two on people skills. They were very rude and unprofessional. One of them compared me to a dog. Two of them would make decisions and change things often when the GM wasn’t there, but when he was around they would act like they didn’t change anything and you are just incompetent at your job. Backwaiters made the same if not more than servers and hosts yet we were still expected to buss tables & help run food. My coworkers and the location were the only reasons I stayed as long as I did. 

Boqueria was a wonderful workplace where I had the opportunity to meet many new people daily and learn many new things. The management team was very supportive and helpful and they were a great team to work with. The co-workers were very helpful and helped me with training on a daily basis. The hardest part of the job was seating guests when the restaurant was crowded. however, in the end all of the benefits of working at Boqueria exceeded that.

The only good thing about this place was the friends I made & the cool drinks they have. The food is tasty when it doesn’t take forever to come to a table. As a server you’re tipping out your food runners and bartenders 30-35% or more of your overall tips every single night. Not the ideal place to work if you actually need this job to maintain yourself, pay rent or have responsibilities 

The staff is mostly very welcoming and friendly so it creates a good work environment even in upper management (exceptions apply like any other place) 

even though it's a very well presented place hinting at fine dining the mood that tapas evoke is more casual so it's not as rigid without loosing good service and it can get hectic at time 

it was great to work at Boqueria, I could learn a lot of aspects and systems of a CDC position that will be very useful in my future ventures.
the company cares about every employee and that made me realize how important is that to be respected within a group of individuals.

They simply don’t care about people. Upper management is heartless, cold and frivolous. Pay is below market value . Core values are utopian. For 3 months I had to work double , stepping in for someone that was on maternity leave and got paid the same. 

Workload is excessive for openers, night does little to help, management is not worth the effort have a problem? Keep it to yourself  doesn’t matter if it affects your health or ability to do job

Management at the Times Square location is a mess. Scheduling is inconsistent. They advertise and promise more $ than is made. Strict dress code also.
