The leadership is retaliatory and conduct themselves as if they are too high and mighty to communicate with their subordinates. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Your peers are pretty good people. But, the environment is full of gossip. However, the company does a lot of morale boosting events and challenges. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I come in, do my work and leave.

I appreciate so much the culture of this company. It takes perspective to understand that not all cultures are created equal. The feeling of respect and kindness in this place is interwoven into the day-to-day operations. Leadership's office doors are left open for approachability, everyone you pass in the hallways acknowledges you with a smile and a greeting. My supervisor empowers me to make decisions and also encourages me to do good & meaningful work. 

I have worked a lot of places and this is the first place I feel like my work matters.  They treat their employees like family and listen to ideas with an open mind. 

As long as you're willing to put in the work, they allow you the independence to run with new ideas and implement changes. The environment is very collaborative. 

I also love that Higginbotham is very active in the community.  Employees have the option to donate to our "Community Fund" through payroll deductions and each employee has a say as to where that money goes.  They also encourage their employees to donate their time volunteering in the community. 

I have enjoyed my time here thus far. My manager is very supportive and always willing to offer assistance without any sort of micromanaging. The company really cares about their clients and employees and we are constantly learning and evolving which is exciting. It’s been a long time since I’ve actually worked at a company I believed in. I wouldn’t change anything besides the pay but other than that I have no complaints ably the company or work we perform.

Typical day can sometimes have too much personal talk and absenteeism. Lack a sense of urgency in Accounting Dept, learned more about banking and insurance protocol. Hardest part was accepting that some people don’t do their jobs properly but don’t receive reprimand or acknowledgement of their lack of work ethic. 

I loved the people I worked with. They were smart and helpful beyond belief. That being said, the benefits and pay could have been significantly improved. Another thing is if you were hired in a position, management was more inclined to keep you in that position and overload you with work. There was no focus on internal advancement whatsoever. Other than that, the work environment was positive overall. 

It is a great environment to work here and the culture in this company is unlike any other. Everyone is caring of each other and uplifts everybody to do their very best. I enjoy working here because of the ability to try my very best and there is never a wrong answer. If you ever need to apply somewhere were we deal with insurance, definitely join our team as you will not be disappointed and will be welcomed with open arms.

During my experience with Higginbotham, they have shown time and time again how much they value their employees, their clients, and their community. Most of us spend as much time at work as we spend with our families, so culture is critical.  I cannot speak more highly of the Higg culture. A company is only as strong as it's leaders, and the Higg leadership is extraordinary.  

In my 15 years at Higginbotham I have been challenged and offered amazing opportunities to learn and grow both personally and professionally.  The company is dynamic which can be hard but also very rewarding and the culture is truly like family.

This company has great leadership and sets individuals up for success. They give you all the tools to succeed and are aggressive with their business. They have capabilities that their competitors cannot match. Commission splits are 30/30 though which is below industry standard. 

There is a specialist for just about any risk so you can go after any business.
