What is the best part of working at the company?
After 5yrs of formal education, 28yrs experience in the food and beverage industry; I learned so much about cooking and life in my summer with Wolfoods 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
When there's a delivery issue and a crucial item for that days meal or the next breakfast did not come. Requires some creativity as 300+ kids are still going to be hungry!

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Wolfoods cultivates an accepting and creative culture for their employees. The actual physical environment depends on which camp you're at. Guaranteed beautiful woods, waters and smiles.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Wake up and have coffee on the banks or dock of a lake, get into the kitchen and prep is rolling for the fruit and granola bars the hot food prepped the night before is being portioned appropriately and lunch preparation is getting under weigh. We serve breakfast, clean it up, get lunch set and even start dinner prep before a short break and family meal. Once lunch is served and cleaned up we put a simple snack together and get dinner served, eat dinner and clean the kitchen for the night. The closing chef sets out a late night snack of chips or granola bars of some type out as well as a hot appetizer for the counselors to enjoy after lights out. It is a busy day, but so rewarding in the relationships and strength you build overcoming unusual obstacles.

1. Typical work day was long, crazy, and disorganized. We worked short staffed most of the summer. 
2. I didn’t not learn much. I worked from my own skills.
3. Management was not strong, rules were made but never enforced.
4. One of the hardest part about the job was going back to our substandard living arrangements after a long and tiring day. 
5. The most enjoyable part of the job, was the last day - time to go home. 
I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Having food out in a timely manner.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fun and appreciative culture. Especially from the kids.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Long,  but fun and freedom felt to be creative.

Freedom to work independently. There is good support for management even if it's only by phone.

Some staff are not qualified to work on these environments and under these stresses at summer camps

Can be a little difficult for women

Wolfoods is a new company doing contract camp foodservice. The owner has a lot of knowledge however he doesn't have a great team around him. They hire staff, chefs can't make mac and cheese or beef brisket .Baker all they do is open pkg and add water or take food from freezer. Special diet chef can only saute veggies. They don't have knowledge or skill or have vegan program or ha

Everything about Wolfoods is incredible!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
It’s not year around. I wish it was my permanent job.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Awesome! It’s like being part of an amazing family.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The sun is always shining and everyone is happy.

I had a very rewarding experience working for Wolfoods. 
They have systems that when followed, make the job easier and more organized. 
Nowhere else in the world of food service have I felt so appreciated and valued as a member of a team and part of a community. 
It is hard work but it felt like I was doing something important.

If you are a chef in a area where business declines in the summer this may be a good alternative to help you get through the slow months. It is hard at times but if you have good management skills you won't have a problem making thing easier for yourself.

Seasonal at summer camp Team worked together to get the days meals ready staff mostly from Europe and Mexico so communication was hard at times coordination of exchange students was hard and not fair to them the picture that was painted for them was not reality they were very helpful but resentful at times

Wolfoods is an intense fast paced work place environment. The management could be a little more involved and educated for their respective positions in leadership and mentoring.
