Job Description
Site Supervisor
The Site Supervisor for the Fun & Friends Child Care Program is responsible for leading the daily operations of the before and/or after-school child care program within an elementary school setting. This role ensures a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow. The Site Supervisor oversees staff, supports positive child development, and serves as the primary point of contact for families and school personnel.
Assistant Site Supervisor
The Assistant Site Supervisor for the Fun & Friends Child Care Program supports the daily operations of the before and/or after-school child care program within an elementary school setting. This role works alongside the Site Supervisor to help maintain a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and grow. The Assistant Site Supervisor provides leadership to staff, supports positive child development, assists with program operations, and serves as a resource for families and school personnel. In the absence of the Site Supervisor, this position assumes responsibility for the daily operation of the program.
Site Supervisor
Key Responsibilities / Job Duties
Program Operations
- Plan, organize, and oversee daily Fun & Friends programming, including enrichment activities and recreational play.
- Ensure a structured, safe, and engaging environment that meets the needs of all children.
- Maintain daily program operations, including attendance, sign-in/sign-out procedures, and scheduling.
- Lead program planning and ensure activities align with program goals.
Student Supervision & Support
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Build positive relationships with children and support their social-emotional development.
- Implement and oversee positive behavior support strategies.
- Address, document, and communicate behavior concerns with families and administration as needed.
Staff Leadership
- Supervise, schedule, coach, and evaluate Fun & Friends staff.
- Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing support to team members.
- Delegate responsibilities and ensure staff follow district policies, licensing requirements, and program expectations.
- Lead staff meetings and foster a collaborative team environment.
Communication
- Serve as the primary contact for families, school staff, and administration.
- Communicate program updates, concerns, and student information professionally and promptly.
- Build positive relationships with parents and school personnel.
Compliance & Administration
- Ensure compliance with Minnesota childcare licensing regulations and district policies.
- Maintain program records, incident reports, attendance, and required documentation.
- Manage program supplies, budgets, and ordering.
- Coordinate emergency procedures, drills, and overall site readiness.
Health & Safety
- Ensure proper supervision ratios and a safe environment.
- Respond to emergencies and administer first aid as needed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe program spaces.
Assistant Site Supervisor

- Assist the Site Supervisor with the daily operation of the Fun & Friends program.
- Help implement engaging enrichment activities and recreational programming.
- Support attendance, sign-in/sign-out procedures, and daily routines.
- Help maintain a positive, organized, and welcoming program environment.
Student Supervision & Support
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Build positive relationships and encourage positive behavior.
- Implement behavior support strategies and communicate concerns to the Site Supervisor.
- Assist with documenting incidents and behavior reports.
Staff Support
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff during daily program operations.
- Assist with training new staff and modeling program expectations.
- Support staff in following district policies and licensing requirements.
- Serve as the acting leader in the Site Supervisor's absence.
Communication
- Build positive relationships with families and school staff.
- Communicate routine program information and refer complex concerns to the Site Supervisor when appropriate.
- Support the Site Supervisor with family communication as needed.
Program Support & Compliance
- Assist with maintaining program records and required documentation.
- Help monitor licensing compliance and safety procedures.
- Assist with organizing supplies, materials, and program spaces.
- Support emergency preparedness and daily operational needs.
Health & Safety
- Follow all emergency procedures, health guidelines, and supervision ratios.
- Administer first aid as trained and document incidents appropriately.
- Help maintain clean, safe, and organized program areas.
Work Environment
This program will be located in classrooms, gyms, and cafeterias, including outdoor spaces. Staff will regularly interact with students, parents/guardians, program staff, district Child Care Coordinator, and other school staff. This is not intended to be all-inclusive; other duties and responsibilities from time to time should be taken and carried out as part of your job duties and description in a positive, supportive manner.
Physical Requirements
Employees are regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods of time; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, crawl, or push objects weighing up to 30 pounds. The position also requires specific vision abilities, including close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The Site Supervisor for the Little Warriors Early Child Care Program is responsible for leading the daily operations of the early childhood program in a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. This role ensures high-quality care and learning experiences for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children while overseeing staff, supporting positive child development, and serving as the primary point of contact for families, district staff, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities / Job Duties
Program Operations
- Plan, organize, and oversee the daily operation of the Little Warriors program.
- Ensure classrooms provide a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
- Support curriculum implementation and age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Maintain daily schedules, classroom routines, and enrollment needs.
Child Supervision & Development
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of every child.
- Foster positive relationships and support each child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Support staff in implementing positive guidance and behavior strategies.
- Address, document, and communicate child concerns with families as appropriate.
Staff Leadership

Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred)
- Experience working in an early childhood setting
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of child development and positive guidance practices
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
