Full Job Description

Overview

Join our dedicated home healthcare team as a Home Health State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), where your compassionate care and clinical skills will make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance to individuals in their homes, supporting their health, safety, and well-being. Your expertise will help clients maintain independence and dignity while receiving high-quality care tailored to their unique needs. This paid position offers an engaging opportunity to work closely with diverse patient populations, including seniors, those with disabilities, and individuals requiring end-of-life care.

Responsibilities

Perform patient observation to monitor health status and identify changes or concerns promptly.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
Administer medication and perform basic medical procedures such as catheter care, vital signs measurement, and wound care under supervision.
Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient information accurately and maintain medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Support patients with meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and cleaning to promote a safe and comfortable environment.
Implement patient transfer methods safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts while adhering to proper techniques.
Communicate effectively with clients and family members to ensure personalized care plans are followed and needs are met.

Experience

Previous experience working in home health care or assisted living environments is highly preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology, medication administration, and home healthcare regulations is essential.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, or in hospice settings is advantageous.
Knowledge of patient transfer methods, CPR certification, first aid training, and basic life support (BLS) is required.
Demonstrated ability to work with geriatric patients and provide compassionate senior care in diverse settings.
Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for documentation and maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and handle physical demands associated with home health assistance.
