Full Job Description

This position is available as either part-time or full-time, based on the candidate's preference

2-3 shifts per week, 12 hours on Day Shift

6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The Charge Nurse provides clinical leadership and coordination for the Inpatient Acute and Emergency Departments, supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in our rural Critical Access Hospital and Level IV Trauma Emergency Department. This position serves as a daily leader and role model for the nursing team, promoting a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment. During times of high patient census the Charge Nurse will also provide hands-on patient care.

Requirements

Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), required.
Current Registered Nurse License issued by the Kansas State Board of Nursing, or multi-state compact license.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification, and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) Certification are required. Can obtain within 6 months of hire.
Must have at least 2 years of previous hands on experience in the Emergency Department (preferred), or Acute Nursing (required).
Previous experience in Charge Nurse role, preferred.
