Job Overview
Join our compassionate team as a Pediatric Home Care Nurse RN, working 20 hours per week to provide specialized nursing care to children in their home environment. This role offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pediatric patients and their families. You will deliver expert clinical care, promote health and safety, and support families navigating complex medical needs with confidence and compassion. Ideal candidates are energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about pediatric care, ready to bring their expertise into a home setting.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations tailored for pediatric patients.
Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform catheter care following aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
Manage ventilators, oxygen therapy, tube feedings, and other specialized medical equipment in accordance with care plans.
Conduct wound suturing, dressing changes, ostomy care, and infection control procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Collaborate with families to develop and implement individualized care plans, including discharge planning and health coaching.
Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner while maintaining thorough medical records in compliance with HIPAA standards.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, triage assessments, and emergency response protocols in urgent or acute care situations.

Skills

Extensive pediatric nursing experience with familiarity in home & community care settings.
Proficiency in medical documentation systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; strong EMR/EHR skills required.
Knowledge of complex medical procedures including IV insertion, medication administration, airway management, and specimen collection/processing.
Experience with specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy or neurodevelopmental support for children with disabilities.
Critical care background including ICU or Level I/II trauma center experience; familiarity with trauma medicine and acute pain management preferred.
Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with families and healthcare teams; excellent patient assessment skills essential.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), laboratory procedures, and infection control practices. This position is ideal for dedicated nurses eager to apply their pediatric expertise in a flexible home setting while making a profound impact on children's health journeys.
