Overview
Join our dynamic team as an Alterations Tailor, where your craftsmanship and eye for detail will transform garments to fit perfectly and meet our customers’ unique needs. In this role, you will be responsible for expertly altering, repairing, and customizing clothing items to ensure a flawless fit and finish. Your skills will help enhance customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality tailoring services in a fast-paced, fashion-forward environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your tailoring expertise while contributing to a vibrant retail experience.

Responsibilities

Measure customers accurately to determine necessary alterations and ensure proper fit.
Use sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques to modify garments according to specifications.
Perform garment construction adjustments, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, and resizing clothing items.
Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide expert advice on alterations.
Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
Follow safety procedures when operating sewing machines and other equipment.
Complete all alterations efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.

Qualifications

Experience in fashion retail or tailoring is highly preferred.
Strong sewing skills with proficiency in operating sewing machines and hand-sewing techniques.
Knowledge of garment construction principles is essential for precise alterations.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
Basic math skills for taking measurements, calculating seam allowances, and adjusting patterns.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
