Full Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

Rideau Vineyard is seeking a dependable, hands-on Kitchen Associate. Our kitchen is small and the pace moves, so we’re looking for someone who works clean, stays organized, and takes real pride in what goes out on the plate.

This is a four-day position that splits between two stations: Saturday and Sunday on the outdoor grill turning out smashburgers and hot dogs, and Monday and Tuesday in the indoor kitchen focused on pizzas, charcuterie boards, and various preparatory responsibilities. It’s a good fit for someone who likes variety and enjoys being part of a team that cares about what it does.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Work the outdoor flat-top grill on Saturdays and Sundays, cooking smashburgers and hot dogs
Work the indoor kitchen on Mondays and Tuesdays, working with our convection oven for pizzas and assembling charcuterie plates
Prepare pizza crusts and handle daily prep—portioning, slicing, and setting up your station before service
Run food out to guest tables when needed and check in with the tasting room team on timing
Wash dishes and keep up with them throughout the shift
Break down, clean, and sanitize your station and the kitchen at the end of every shift
Stock and rotate product, put away deliveries, and flag when we’re running low
Follow food safety and temperature standards consistently
Handle trash and recycling, and assist with private events and larger parties as needed

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Comfortable and confident working a flat-top grill
Food prep or line cook experience strongly preferred
Ability to stay organized and keep pace during a busy service
Comfortable working outdoors, including in warm weather
Able to stand for long shifts and lift up to 50 lbs
Works clean and takes food safety seriously
Reliable and communicative—we’re a small team and shifts depend on each other
Valid California Food Handler Card, or willingness to obtain one
Availability Saturday through Tuesday is required

PAY & PERKS

$20/hr
Pooled tip/commission payout per shift that typically adds a few dollars per hour on top
