Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about dental health and eager to grow within the field of dentistry. Prior experience with dental software systems and knowledge of various dental specialties are highly valued.

Duties

Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments in accordance with infection control protocols.
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric dentistry.
Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Florida dental radiology certificate required.
Manage patient records using Open Dental or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Perform chairside assisting with proper aseptic technique while monitoring vital signs as needed.
Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and explain procedures clearly.
Maintain medical documentation and records, including medical history updates and coding for insurance purposes.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting the front desk as a dental receptionist when necessary.
Ensure infection control standards are upheld through proper sterilization and handling of equipment.
Assist with specialized procedures across various dental disciplines including general dentistry, pediatrics, endodontics, prosthodontics, and orthodontics.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with 1+ year of dental clinic setting
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Open Dental
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for patient confidentiality.
Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy relevant to dentistry.
Experience with X-ray procedures, including digital imaging and 3D scanning technology.
Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry. Must be able to fabricate temporary crowns.
Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages.
Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is required.
