Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Key Accounts Manager, the Key Accounts Specialist is responsible for marketing and promoting Lottery products to retailers and retail groups or associations.

This position requires a current Key Accounts Specialist exam. If you need to take the exam or if your score has expired, click here to gain list eligibility.

This position is headquartered at the San Diego District Office. This position is not eligible for telework.

In fiscal year 2023-24, the California Lottery generated sales of more than $9.2 billion with approximately $2.2 billion earned for California public schools. Lottery products are sold at more than 23,000 retail locations throughout the state, from independent neighborhood shops to convenience stores, liquor stores to supermarkets, and more. Desirable Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing, including experience delivering compelling proposals, reports, and status updates to various audiences.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills that drive productivity and create sales opportunities.
Strong analytical skills. Solid understanding of sales tracking metrics, with the ability to generate, analyze and interpret data.
Comprehensive knowledge and professional command of the sales process.
Experience using technology (including smartphones, tablets, and computers) to facilitate sales in-office and out in the field.
Proficiency with Microsoft suite of programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, and Teams.
A background in marketing and advertising; lottery, gaming, entertainment, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) preferred.
Bilingual skills are desirable but not required.
