- CDL Class A or B license with Tanker Endorsement
- Completion of basic safety training (PPE use, flagging certification, first aid/CPR)
- Performs general labor tasks (e.g., shoveling, raking, debris removal from streets, curbs, storm drains)
- Performs a variety of semi-skilled duties, including but not limited to maintenance and repair of City streets, sidewalks, and right-of-way.
- Operates a variety of vehicle and heavy equipment, including but not limited to dump truck, water tanker, front-end loader, motor grader, mini excavator, sweeper, asphalt roller, crack sealer, man lifts, snowplowing and sanding equipment, and other related equipment.
- Performs snow plowing (and other snow related duties) as directed by the Supervisor. This includes getting “called back” into work at any given time day and night, depending on the severity of the storm, which you could work a 12-hour shift.
- Assists in asphalt patching, including the operation of saw cutters, plate whacker, roller, raking, shoveling.
- Assists in concrete repair, including saw cutters, setting forms, prep work and finish work.
- Repairs and maintains street signs and supports, application of roadway paint.
- Repairs and maintains City swales, scuppers, pass through drains, storm drains.
- Assists in work zone traffic control device installations as well as flagging duties.
- May be placed On-call duty outside of regular working hours, to respond to emergency situations on a 24-hour basis, and will need to be able to respond/report to the shop within 30 minutes.
- Ensure Fleet vehicles and equipment are properly serviced and clean.

Required Experience:
One (1) or more years of municipal or government experience or any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge, and abilities required to successfully perform the responsibilities of this position.
Required Credentials:
-High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license.
-Class A and or Class B CDL w/ Tanker Endorsement
Required Expertise & Skills:
· Federal (OSHA), state regulations and City Policies regarding safe work practices relating to use of power tools.
· Manual Of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD)
· Learn the operation of all equipment as well as the maintenance practices established in the Street Division. This includes operating motor vehicles, equipment operation, asphalt patching, storm drain cleaning, roadway stenciling, concrete placement and repairs, snow removal operations, hand and power tools.
· Learn the methods, procedures, materials and standard practice of street and right-of-way maintenance.
· Follow written and oral instructions.
· Communicate professionally with other employees and the public
· Work cooperatively as part of a team
· Learn to proficiently operate computer and related software programs as necessary to perform assigned work.

INSURANCE BENEFITS
Eligibility: Coverage begins for new hires and their dependents on the first day of the month, following the first day of employment.
Medical: Qualified employees may select from three health plan options; The monthly premium varies depending upon the plan and coverage level selected.
Dental: Dental insurance is provided by Delta Dental of Washington. The monthly premium is minimal for employees and eligible dependents.
Vision: Vision coverage is paid for by the City of Liberty Lake.
Life Insurance - Employee Only: Group Term Life Insurance and AD & D for the employee is paid for by the City of Liberty Lake.

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a referral and counseling service for employees and their eligible dependents.
HRA VEBA: Upon the adoption of the annual budget, the City of Liberty Lake contributes a predetermined dollar amount to the employee’s HRA VEBA account on an annual basis.

RETIREMENT BENEFITS
Public Employees' Retirement System: PERS Employees' Retirement System (PERS) is a plan choice retirement plan (PERS 2 or PERS 3) covering non-uniformed employees.
Deferred Compensation
The City does not participate in Social Security. However, the City has adopted a 401(A) Social Security substitute plan.
401A: A predetermined percentage of each check will be contributed to this plan.
457: This is a voluntary plan that employees can contribute an additional dollar amount or a percentage of each check.
PAID TIME OFF
City of Liberty Lake observes eleven (11) paid holidays, prorated based on hire date. Thirty-two (32) hours of floating holiday are provided each year; however, the hours are prorated based on the quarter hired for the first year. Employees accrue four (4) hours of paid vacation year pay period. Sick leave is frontloaded upon hire with forty (40) hours, after six (6) months employees will accrue four (4) hours per pay period.
