Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Cook to join our culinary team, bringing passion, expertise, and leadership to our vibrant food service environment. In this role, you will oversee daily kitchen operations, ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality, and inspire your team to deliver exceptional dining experiences. Your culinary skills, combined with your ability to manage high-volume production and maintain strict safety protocols, will be instrumental in elevating our food offerings and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate all aspects of food preparation, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance on culinary techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food handling procedures.
Oversee menu planning in collaboration with culinary management, incorporating dietary needs and innovative dishes that delight guests.
Maintain strict compliance with food safety sanitizing procedures and food safety management systems to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Operate and oversee the use of kitchen equipment including knives, grills, ovens, and other high-volume production tools efficiently and safely.
Monitor food production processes to ensure consistency, quality control, and timely meal service for large-scale or catering events.
Train team members on culinary skills such as food preparation, cooking techniques, and proper food handling practices to foster a skilled and motivated team.

Requirements

Proven experience in dietary aide roles or dietary department environments with a strong understanding of special dietary needs.
Extensive culinary experience with proficiency in menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation across various cuisines including fine dining settings.
Skilled in multiple cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, grilling, and food production methods relevant to high-volume kitchens.
Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining food safety sanitizing procedures.
Strong background in food industry standards with experience in restaurant or catering environments emphasizing food safety management.
Excellent knife skills combined with high-volume production experience to ensure efficient workflow during peak hours.
Leadership qualities with the ability to train staff on culinary techniques while maintaining a positive team environment.
