Full Job Description

Location: Oak Brook, IL
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Target 40 hours per week; early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekend availability expected based on incoming losses and customer needs

Compensation: $60,000-75,000 base salary (depending on experience) plus performance-based commissions tied to gross margin dollars generated; on target expected annual earnings of $100,000-150,000.

Position Overview

The Water Mitigation Field Sales & Project Coordinator is a field-based, revenue-driving role responsible for converting incoming water damage opportunities into signed jobs while delivering an excellent customer experience from first inspection through project completion.

This person is often the first face of Evergreen Restoration on-site and plays a critical role in building trust, assessing damage, documenting losses, and guiding customers through the restoration process. You will combine sales, light technical assessment, and project coordination to ensure jobs are properly scoped, signed, and smoothly handed off to operations.

This is a high-impact role with a direct influence on company revenue, customer satisfaction, and job quality.

What You’ll Do

Inspection & Sales

Respond to new water damage leads and arrive on-site promptly to both residential and commercial properties.
Perform initial inspections to assess damage, identify affected areas, and determine scope of work (training and WRT certification provided/required).
Clearly explain the restoration process to customers and set expectations with confidence and professionalism.
Secure signed contracts using company rate sheets and pricing guidelines.
Capture detailed photos, videos, and notes to document pre-mitigation conditions.
Communicate with the owner or operations lead on more complex losses, especially early in ramp-up.

Project Documentation & Handoff

Build complete, organized job files before technicians arrive, including scope notes, photos, and key details.
Ensure all required documentation is captured for insurance compliance and internal workflows.
Coordinate clean handoff to technicians so work begins efficiently and correctly.

Customer Experience & Communication

Act as the primary point of contact for the customer throughout the job lifecycle.
Provide twice-daily updates to customers (or as needed) to maintain transparency and trust.
Handle questions, concerns, and objections with professionalism and urgency.
Maintain a high level of empathy, especially in stressful loss situations.

Project Oversight & Coordination

Monitor job progress and stay actively involved from start to finish.
Identify issues, scope changes, or complexities early and escalate to operations leadership as needed.
Ensure alignment between what was sold and what is being executed in the field.
Help prevent scope gaps, missed items, or customer dissatisfaction.

Driving & Field Presence

Travel throughout Chicago and surrounding suburbs to job sites daily.
Operate a company vehicle or approved personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided if applicable).
Maintain a clean, professional appearance and presence in customers’ homes and properties.

Qualifications

1–3+ years of experience in sales, customer-facing roles, or restoration/construction-related work preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust quickly in high-stress situations.
Comfortable discussing pricing, asking for the sale, and handling objections.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail in documentation and follow-through.
Ability to manage multiple active jobs and priorities simultaneously.
Willingness to learn technical aspects of water damage restoration (WRT certification required within a defined timeframe if not already obtained).
Tech-comfortable: able to use mobile apps, take organized photos/videos, and document jobs in company systems.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; comfortable driving regularly in the Chicagoland area.
Self-starter with strong ownership mentality and ability to operate independently in the field.
