Full Job Description

Payroll Manager

CFS is partnering with a growing hospitality organization to identify a Payroll Manager to oversee and coordinate payroll operations for a large, multi-state employee population. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys ownership of the payroll function while collaborating with an outsourced payroll provider. The position is based 5 days onsite in South Boston and offers a salary range of $120,000-$130,000 plus potential bonus opportunities.

Payroll Manager Responsibilities

Serve as the primary internal owner of the payroll function for approximately 2,300 employees across multiple states

Partner closely with the outsourced payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing

Manage and review bi-weekly payroll data, audits, reconciliations, and reporting

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations

Validate employee data, earnings, deductions, taxes, and benefit withholdings

Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries

Review payroll controls and identify opportunities for process improvements

Generate payroll reports and analytics for leadership as needed

Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure payroll accuracy

Maintain payroll records and support audit requests

Payroll Manager Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, Business, or related field preferred

5+ years of progressive payroll experience

Experience processing or overseeing high-volume, multi-state payroll

Proficiency with Paycor

Strong knowledge of payroll tax compliance and wage regulations

Experience working with outsourced payroll providers

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently as a team of one supporting payroll operations

Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
