Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage the day-to-day financial transactions, ensure accurate record-keeping, and support the organization’s financial health. Your expertise in QuickBooks and financial concepts will help us maintain compliance with accounting standards and deliver precise financial reports.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or similar systems
Process payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets regularly to verify accuracy
Prepare journal entries, ledger postings, and double-entry bookkeeping entries in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Assist with month-end closing activities including general ledger reconciliation and financial report writing
Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and revenue against forecasts
Ensure compliance with accounting standards and maintain thorough documentation for audits

Skills

Proven experience with bookkeeping, accounting systems, and financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices
Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) for data analysis and reporting
Knowledge of GAAP standards, technical accounting concepts, and double-entry bookkeeping methods
Ability to perform account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately
Experience processing payroll and managing accounts payable/receivable workflows
Excellent attention to detail combined with strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently
Familiarity with financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and budgeting processes
