Full Job Description

Are you a compassionate and experienced mental health therapist looking for a stimulating professional experience? Egan Counseling & Consulting is currently seeking LCMHCs, LMFTs, or LCSWs to join our private practice in South Charlotte, NC. Both fully and associate licensed professionals will be considered, although experience is necessary.

Egan Counseling, over time, has developed a niched skillset within the Charlotte mental health community, focusing on supporting families experiencing divorce (often high-conflict). While child/teen clients may present with general mental health symptoms and respond well to a generalist’s approach, because of our reputation, it is likely that divorce/family conflict is a relevant dynamic. Our clients are often highly stressed parents and children who are struggling to show up as their best selves, so compassion, patience, and excellent customer service is essential.

Egan Counseling is a self-pay practice and all our clinicians, including the owner, offer services at the same price point. Some of our services (such as coparenting therapy, reunification therapy or court-related services) aren’t typically reimbursable by insurance so we’ve found a self-pay model to be most practical. We work hard to uphold the highest standards in our field and foster a strong reputation as competent and knowledgeable therapists. Therefore, consistent networking, occasional presentations to local schools and attorneys and meaningful professional connections must be prioritized. The reputation of our practice will precede you, but you will be tasked with inspiring confidence, as these are families who are investing considerable time and financial resources to minimize conflict and improve their quality of life. It’s a fast-paced position that can be extremely satisfying (and well-paid) for the right clinician. It requires persistence, well-developed boundaries and ambition. We collaborate extensively so we all benefit from each other’s expertise and support.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for this position would include the following characteristics:

current licensure in North Carolina as an LCMHC (A), LMFT (A), or an LCSW (A)
passion for working with children, teens, their parents, or couples who are divorcing
training and experience that allows the clinician to provide direct, practical, compassionate, and culturally relevant support to address client stressors
excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
excellent executive functioning skills as related to completion of session notes and timely responses to clients and team members via email and phone
self-starter: passion for continuous learning and growth through actively seeking formal and informal professional development
ability to work both autonomously and in a collaborative manner with colleagues and other service providers
willingness to provide and accept feedback
ambition to grow a full case load that consists of your "best-fit" clients
continuous desire to grow as an expert in a field complimentary to high-conflict divorce

About the Role:

This is a full-time position (25 clinical hours per week, 40 hours including non-clinical tasks such as Team meetings, consultation, networking events, professional development, and session notes), although schedules are flexible. This is an office-based position, generally, so clinicians must be able to commute to our S. Charlotte office daily.

Services that our team members provide in the divorce space include:

child and adolescent individual therapy services
parenting support (often as a supplement to child/teen individual therapy)
coparenting therapy (supporting coparents as they learn to effectively parent during/after divorce) *
family therapy (supporting both families who are unaffected by divorce, and those who are divorcing and/or creating a blended family)

*training for newly hired clinicians will be provided, as we recognize that this is a niched skillset in which applicants are unlikely to have extensive experience. Clinicians with experience in couples work would greatly compliment our team.

General therapy services are also provided for clients (mostly kids and teens) experiencing:

anxiety
depression
emotional dysregulation
ADHD/neurodivergence
social skill deficits/relationship issues
executive functioning weaknesses
low self-esteem
school stressors
sibling conflict
life transitions

We encourage our therapists to foster special interests and work to attract their ideal clients. We also collaborate extensively with the public and private schools in the area, attorneys, parent coordinators, other therapists, psychologists, and physicians.

Mental Health Therapist Compensation:

This is a W-2 position and a competitive base salary is offered. Hourly pay is expected to fall between $100-110 per clinical hour, depending on experience. Our full-time clinicians with a full caseload of 25 clinical hours per week earn over 120K per year, plus benefits and bonuses if eligible.

Our practice is private pay (we do not accept insurance, although we provide superbills to clients) and we seek to provide customized mental health services and exceptional customer service.
