About us

Greenplay Northwest is a small nonprofit that is seeking employees who are passionate about advancing our mission to connect children and their families to the natural world.

We have an opening for a part-time bookkeeper/administrative assistant to help manage our day to day operations. Responsibilities include basic bookkeeping, database management and general office support.

Essential Functions: This position is responsible for providing general administrative support as needed, including but not limited to:

Perform basic bookkeeping including bill paying, check cutting, mailing checks, making deposits, invoicing, running financial reports, assisting with annual audit etc.
Use Quickbooks Online to record and reconcile financial transactions
Maintain organizations fiscal files and documents
Complete and submit quarterly reports to IRS, ESD, L&I and all other entities which require reporting as per our 501c3 status
Onboard new employees into Gusto online payroll software
Process and submit monthly payroll for all staff members
Serve as point-of-contact for all staff members regarding receipts/spending/etc.
Participate in scholarship review process and track awarded scholarship amounts
Maintain accurate records of scholarships, discounts, or payment plans
Communicate with administrative staff regarding status of tuition payments
Send program tuition payment reminders and follow up on late payments directly with families
Prepare quarterly budget to submit to Board of Directors
Communicate with Board Treasurer regarding finances prior to board meetings as scheduled
Manage maintenance of office equipment, including computers, phones, and printers

Qualifications:

Minimum two years financial experience, experience with educational programs/nonprofits a plus.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
Familiarity with Quickbooks/Gusto/Intuit software.
Experience with business and payroll taxes, quarterly filings, etc.
Ability to multi task and prioritize.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work as a team member with minimal supervision.
Solid written and oral communication skills.
