Full Job Description

Nuvo Packaging dba Pinnpack Ohio, a thermoformed packaging and extrusion manufacturer, is seeking an Assistant Controller to support financial close, inventory costing, financial reporting, and manufacturing analysis in a growing operation.

The Assistant Controller will lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and GAAP financial reporting. The role is responsible for managing inventory accounting, physical inventory counts, weighted average costing, and inventory valuation while partnering closely with operations and supply chain teams. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the general ledger, AP/AR, internal controls, audit support, and statutory compliance, as well as performing financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, manufacturing variance reporting, and identifying opportunities for process improvements.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and at least four years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, ERP systems, and advanced Excel is required, along with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. A CPA (or active progress toward certification), a master's degree, experience with manufacturing costing, inventory accounting, weighted average costing, variance analysis, plastics or packaging manufacturing, multi-site or 3PL operations, and bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.

This position reports to the VP of Finance and is based in Columbus, Ohio.

Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
