A dynamic and growing real estate investment and property management firm is seeking a Portfolio Accountant to join its accounting team. This firm specializes in the acquisition, development, and management of multifamily residential communities and is driven by innovation, sustainability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional value.

The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to a growing organization while expanding your career in real estate accounting.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Assist in annual budget preparation and financial data analysis
Conduct monthly bank reconciliations
Input and review journal entries in accounting software
Support annual financial audits and coordinate with external tax consultants by preparing required documentation and schedules.
Produce quarterly reports for investors
Collaborate across departments including Accounts Payable, Operations, and Construction
Analyze general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal standards
Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Allocate costs and maintain consistency with financial planning objectives
Lead and support special projects and continuous process improvement initiatives
Manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Contribute to a positive and solutions-oriented team culture

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
1+ years of experience in property accounting, multifamily, real estate, or portfolio accounting
Experience with Yardi strongly preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems
Proven ability to manage complex accounting functions and meet deadlines
Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
Experience mentoring or training other team members
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
High attention to detail and accuracy
