Full Job Description

We are looking for an experienced machinist who wants to apply his/her trade in slightly different way. We need your technical ability to better serve our machine shop customers in the sale and support of cutting tools, abrasives, and other metalworking products. Please note that we cannot and will not hire you away from any of our loyal customers unless there is an existing situation by which you are definitely leaving.

We are looking to hire the right person immediately. We need good people who are fast learning, reliable, hard working, fun to work with, and looking for a career path. If that's you, you will do very well here. We are not at all concerned with your education, grades, past work experiences, etc. We are growing at a good pace, embrace technology in an established industry, and have a great opportunity for an inexperienced individual who meets the above criteria. We will train you.

This position starts in customer service and has significant growth opportunities, in both responsibility and compensation. Position could be a very nice, long term career path for the right person, starting in our warehouse with advancement to customer service and beyond (just like most of our other employees). Benefits including health and dental/vision insurance, paid holidays and vacations (most of us are now at 3 or 4 weeks of paid vacation). Company is an established industrial distributor that caters to the northeast manufacturing segment. Job would be 40 hours a week, 8AM to 5PM Monday thru Friday, with a 1 hour lunch break. There is no opportunity for overtime with this position.

Position Requires:

- Please note that this position is 100% at our location. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.

- Be on time for work everyday

- Interact with customers at pick-up window on a daily basis

-Answer the phone to interact with suppliers or service customers

- Have a mechanical aptitude

- Be capable of effective and professional communications with customers and suppliers through phone conversations and email correspondence

- Use of basic software programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook

- Use of our Prophet 21 business system (we will train)

- Be capable of lifting 50 lbs

- Valid driver's license and clean driving record

- Be comfortable driving a van for deliveries

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
