About SHACK15

Located on the third floor of the historic Ferry Building, SHACK15 is a private members club and event venue spanning 51,000 square feet with panoramic Bay views. We host high-level gatherings, cultural programming, and daily member experiences that require precision, energy, and hospitality excellence.

Job Description

The Event Execution & Facility Operations Team Member is a position that works directly in the events & facilities team to set up and break down events while also supporting facility function and presentation. This position is a dynamic hands on role that requires flexibility, adaptability, and task prioritization to ensure all duties are completed in a timely fashion with a strong emphasis on excellent customer service with a hospitality mindset. Below is a detailed daily responsibilities list.

Daily Duties

Take direction from supervisor and other staff to do the following:

Event Duties:

Set-up and breakdown of events independently or as part of a team to the exact specification of the client and sales team as listed on BEO and floor plan, making changes as needed
Provide support during events to ensure client satisfaction by responding to requests from clients and staff,
Provide A/V tech support in the form of setting up mics, projectors, lighting, DJ equipment, and troubleshooting as needed
Provide support during events to ensure client satisfaction by responding to requests from clients and staff
Remove trash during events as needed
Supervise and support client and vendors during their load-in and load-out to ensure it is done in a compliant manner with Ferry Building requirements
Support F&B staff as needed by setting up tables and electricity for food stations and bars. Bussing and acting as bar back if needed.

Facilities Duties

Maintain cleanliness and organization of facility to ensure optimal function and presentation to provide an excellent experience for our members and guests by doing the following:
Restock and clean bathroom - every 2 hours (1 hour for events)
Assist with meeting room A/V issues (primarily helping members connect to zoom and trouble shoot as needed)
Assist with upkeep of decor (Candles, Lamps, Plants, etc.) by recharging and replenishing as needed
Keep event spaces and storage areas organized and clean to ensure they are showroom ready for any tours or guests
Construct, repair, and dispose of furniture and equipment (as needed)
Paint and repair walls, clean floors and furniture of any stains
Coordinate with vendors and the ferry building to perform any repairs and services needed with outside contractors
Perform periodic inventory of furniture and equipment then update corresponding spreadsheets

Required Qualifications

21+ Years Old
Physically able to lift 50+ lbs objects (sofas, chairs, furniture, appliances, etc)
Ability to pass a background check
Be on your feet for majority of work shift
Ability to work well as part of a team, but capable of working independently with direction from supervisor
Positive & Professional attitude when working with members, guests, and coworkers
Excellent communication (verbal and written)
Detailed orientated with excellent organization skills
Able to problem solve unforeseen issues that arise during events (ex. AV issues or last minute changes that require on the spot solutions)
Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations
Punctual and consistent on-time attendance

Preferred Experience: (1+ years experience in the following areas)

Events (set-up, break down, A/V support, stage hand, production, catering, banquets)
Facilities & Operations (janitorial, building maintenance, construction, HVAC, zoom room support, IT)
Hospitality Experience (hotels, restaurants, etc)
