Full Job Description

Exclusive private country club is looking for a Full Time ASSISTANT CONTROLLER to join our team.

The position of Assistant Controller is an excellent opportunity for career growth. The ideal candidate will have a BS in accounting from an accredited college with a minimum of 4 years experience, preferably in hospitality. The person must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments within a fast-paced environment. He/she must have professional phone and email etiquette, must be willing to initiate tasks and perform duties without direction. Extensive user knowledge of Jonas and Microsoft Office is required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Key Responsibilities

· Assists with preparations of financial statements, capex, and budgets.

· Support annual audits and coordinate with external auditors.

· Uses Jonas accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.

· Assists in month-end closing and financial reporting process.

· Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for discrepancies

· Review and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.

· Reconciles accounting inaccuracies.

· Reconcile bank statements and club accounts to ensure accuracy

· Assists with the development of operational procedures.

· Assists with payroll processing.

· Administer HR benefits including onboarding for new and seasonal employees

· Administers employee benefits including health and life insurance, 401k, and workers’ compensation.

· Assist with maintaining the membership roster, billing codes and category changes.

· Monitor membership account balances, verify discrepancies and resolve billing issues

· Prepares and submits all permits for food, pool liquor licenses, as well as renews.

· Vehicle, trailer, boat, registrations.

· Assist with information technology maintenance.

· Performs miscellaneous office responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, private clubs, or similar industries
Proficiency in Jonas Club Management Software or similar accounting platforms (highly preferred)
Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting
Experience with payroll processing
Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
