Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Dentrix, is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow through effective chairside assisting.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to aseptic techniques.
Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately in medical documentation.
Manage patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding confidentiality.
Provide support in pediatric dentistry by creating a welcoming environment for young patients.
Utilize 3D scanners for imaging as needed during procedures.
Assist with dental receptionist duties, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries.
Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices to ensure high-quality patient care.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic operations while providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting.
Familiarity with Dentrix is preferred.
Strong understanding of dental procedures including pediatric dentistry and orthodontics.
Ability to perform medical imaging and maintain accurate dental records.
Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is an asset.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining infection control standards.
