Full Job Description

Precast Quality Control Technician

EnCon Colorado – Denver, CO

EnCon Colorado is seeking a motivated Precast Quality Control Technician to join our Quality Assurance team. We are looking for someone with experience in precast concrete, prestressed concrete, ready-mix concrete, construction materials testing, or concrete manufacturing who takes pride in producing high-quality products.

This is an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career with a growing precast manufacturer while expanding your technical knowledge through hands-on experience and industry certifications.

QualificationsRequired

Minimum 1 year of experience in precast/prestressed concrete, ready-mix concrete, concrete testing, construction materials testing, or a related concrete manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret production drawings and shop drawings.
Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred

ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I Certification (Preferred or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
Experience with prestressed concrete manufacturing a plus.
Experience using Concrete Vision or similar manufacturing software.
Familiarity with ASTM and ACI testing procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-pour, post-pour, and final inspections to verify products meet project specifications.
Inspect reinforcing steel, embeds, dimensions, and form setup before concrete placement.
Monitor prestressing (tensioning) operations to ensure compliance with engineering specifications.
Perform ACI concrete testing including slump, air, temperature, spread, and compressive strength testing.
Prepare, cure, document, and break concrete cylinders for release strength, final strength, and project-specific testing.
Monitor curing operations using temperature probes and curing software.
Maintain accurate inspection reports and quality documentation.
Manage product inventory and status within Concrete Vision software.
Maintain QC laboratory equipment and testing materials.
Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and Management to maintain product quality.
Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety policies.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Physical Requirements

Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Frequently lift up to 20 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in both office and plant environments.
Comfortable working around moving equipment, loud noise, dust, chemicals, and varying weather conditions.

Pay & Benefits

Starting Pay: $22.50–$23.00 per hour (DOE)
