Plant Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead day-to-day operations within a small manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for operational performance, employee leadership, safety, quality, customer satisfaction, cost management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring strong operational leadership experience, a commitment to workplace safety, and a proven ability to improve productivity and team performance.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate all facility operations to ensure productivity, quality, service, and cost objectives are achieved.
Drive a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements and company policies.
Monitor operational performance metrics and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate team members, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management activities.
Oversee inventory control processes and ensure materials are managed effectively to support production demands.
Collaborate with transportation, customer service, and commercial teams to meet customer expectations and delivery commitments.
Develop and manage budgets related to labor, equipment, maintenance, and operating expenses.
Coordinate preventive maintenance programs and manage equipment repairs, upgrades, and replacement planning.
Maintain quality standards and implement corrective actions when performance targets are not met.
Support environmental compliance initiatives and sustainability objectives.
Provide regular updates and performance reports to senior leadership, including operational results, safety performance, and improvement projects.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a plant, operations, manufacturing, recycling, distribution, or industrial management role.
Strong knowledge of workplace safety principles, OSHA regulations, and operational best practices.
Demonstrated leadership, team-building, and employee development skills.
Ability to analyze operational data and make sound business decisions.
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving capabilities.
Mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial equipment and machinery.
Experience using inventory, production, or enterprise management systems is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Forklift certification or experience operating powered industrial equipment.
Experience leading multi-functional teams in a manufacturing, logistics, or industrial setting.

Work Environment

This role will require someone willing to engage with operations and teams on the floor regularly and be hands-on with operational processes. Presence on the floor and visibility with the team will be key.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
