Full Job Description

Medical Practice Office Lead Job Responsibilities:

We are a small Cardiology practice that has an opening for a Medical Practice Office Lead to join our practice. We are looking for an individual who has prior experience as a medical billing specialist/office manager / Administrative Assistant / Medical back-office skillsets, specifically in the area of Cardiology. We have a great team and working environment.

This is a great position for a reliable, mature person interested in career development.

Main role will be assist with administrative task and managerial responsibilities both at Johns Creek and Cumming offices.
Must be proficient in accounting using excel, word, and power point.
Must be able to take lead on tasks and assist with start up / implementation of new projects.
Website and social media management skills.
performing insurance checks / eligibility checks / performing precerts / and assisting with billing tasks.
Initiate refund requests to patients and insurance companies
Answer patient questions about insurance/billing
Supply ordering/verify invoices/employee oversight
Serves patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
Ensure required pre-certs and prior authorizations for patients are obtained timely.
Keep the office running smoothly and that all checks and balances are in order.
Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
Tracks physician schedules and ensures testing schedule is filled for the current week.
Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area.
Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
Pulls billing reports as requested
Performs billing office audits as requested
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients, and filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
Maintains business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs.
Helps patients in distress by responding to emergencies.
Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

* Must be able to travel to both our locations in Johns Creek and Cumming if needed. The main office will be the Johns Creek location. The Employee will perform any and all duties as requested by the Employer that are reasonable and that are customarily performed by a person holding a similar position in the industry or business of the Employer

Secondary Role

Will be cross trained in front office duties. Check in/out, schedule appointments, answer phones and take messages for back office team. In addition will provide front office supervisor support.
The Employer may make changes to the job title or duties of the Employee where the changes would be considered reasonable for a similar position in the industry or business of the Employer. The Employee's job title or duties may be changed by agreement and with the approval of both the Employee and the Employer or after a notice period required under law. University/college degree is an asset

· All other duties as assigned by Physician, Physician Assistant, and Practice Administrator
