Full Job Description

General Manager – Rooftop Lounge (Immediate Hire)

A high-volume rooftop lounge is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager for immediate hire. This leadership role is responsible for driving operational excellence, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and fostering a strong, hospitality-focused team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Culture
Model, uphold, and continuously enhance company culture and service standards.
Lead, motivate, serve as a role model, and develop a high-performing management and service team.
Guest Experience
Champion guest satisfaction by implementing service standards, training programs, and consistent pre-shift meetings.
Create a hospitality-driven, guest-focused environment across all touchpoints.
Events Management
Partner with the Events Department to plan and execute private and semi-private events for up to 300 guests, sometimes more than multiple in one day.
Oversee all aspects of event operations, including setup, staffing, pre-production, execution, and follow-through.
Staffing & Labor Management
Manage scheduling and labor.
Support recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of both FOH and BOH team members.
Operations & Administration
Oversee inventory, ordering, invoice management, and receiving processes.
Protect company assets and maintain organization of storage and office areas.
Team Oversight
Oversee the Assistant General Manager and Floor Management team to enforce standards and ensure smooth daily operations.
Beverage & Menu Knowledge
Partner with the Beverage Management team to ensure FOH staff are fully trained on all menus, including recipes, preparation, wine, and spirits.
Kitchen Collaboration
Work closely with the Chef to support kitchen operations and culture.
Monitor food quality, preparation, presentation, sanitation standards, and cost management, including event-related offerings.
Performance & Reputation Management
Monitor online reviews and guest feedback.
Analyze performance metrics and implement strategies to improve ratings and overall guest satisfaction.
Oversee Day-to-Day Operations including Floor Management and Staffing
Monitor and analyze financial metrics, including labor, cost of goods, and revenue, to maximize profitability.
Enforce compliance with health, safety, beverage and labor regulations while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for staff and guests.
Cross-Department Communication
Maintain strong relationships with hotel management, security, maintenance, and ownership.

Qualifications

At least 7+ years of restaurant management experience, with at least 2 years in a General Manager or equivalent leadership role.
Proven ability to lead diverse teams and foster a positive workplace culture.
Strong understanding of financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Passion for hospitality and delivering outstanding guest experiences.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Experience with Toast, Open Table, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Physical Demands

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 10 hours per shift), including an ability to walk up and down 2 flights of stairs
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors as needed.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $110,000 – $160,000
