Community Impact Program Assistant

Position Information

Job Title: Community Impact Program Assistant

Reporting to: Generation Next and Ride2Health Coordinator

Department: Community Impact

Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (20 hours/week)

Salary: $25.00/hour

Benefits: 10 days Paid Time Off (PTO) per year; Paid Holidays; 5% SEP employer contribution beginning in the 13th month of employment.

Work Schedule: Core hours on select weekdays, generally 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Schedule is based on school programming and transportation appointments and may require occasional early mornings, evenings, and limited weekend hours.

Job Overview

The Generation Next Program currently serves approximately 80 students in grades 10–12, helping low-income, first-generation, and historically underrepresented students prepare for college, trade school, technical education, military service, and career pathways. The Program Assistant works alongside the Program Coordinator to deliver engaging programming, mentor students, coordinate events and college visits, and support family engagement.

This position also provides support for the Ride2Health program by assisting with ride scheduling, communication, and providing transportation for approved clients using a company-owned vehicle.

Primary Responsibilities – Generation Next

· Facilitate classroom programming focused on college and career readiness, leadership development, and social-emotional learning.

· Mentor students individually and support academic and post-secondary goal setting.

· Assist students and families with college searches, applications, FAFSA, scholarships, and career planning.

· Coordinate college visits, career tours, guest speakers, and leadership activities.

· Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain Generation Next participants.

· Maintain communication with students, families, school counselors, teachers, and administrators.

· Assist with organizing field trips, permission slips, transportation, and college visits.

· Maintain accurate attendance, student records, and program documentation.

· Support outreach, recruitment events, and community partnerships.

· Assist with curriculum development and classroom preparation.

Primary Responsibilities - Ride2Health Transportation Support

· Assist with scheduling transportation for eligible Ride2Health participants.

· Contact members to confirm transportation arrangements and appointment details.

· Communicate scheduling changes with transportation providers and participants.

· Maintain daily transportation schedules and provide transportation-related customer service.

· Provide transportation to approved clients as needed.

· Support the Program Coordinator with transportation coordination and related administrative tasks.

Sample Weekly Duties

· Facilitate Generation Next programming in a classroom setting.

· Conduct one-on-one student mentoring and goal setting.

· Coordinate college visits and student activities.

· Communicate with students and families.

· Coordinate Ride2Health transportation schedules.

· Provide occasional transportation for approved clients.

· Maintain accurate records and attend staff meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

· Associate degree preferred and/or 2–3 years of relevant experience.

· Experience working with youth, education, nonprofit, social services, or community engagement preferred.

· Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Read, write and understand English fluently. Proficiency in other spoken languages is valued.

· Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and access to independent transportation required.

· Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Background Check required.
