Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in food preparation and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. This position is perfect for individuals passionate about the food industry and eager to contribute to a dynamic kitchen environment.

Duties

Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items according to established recipes and standards.
Assist in the cooking process by performing basic cooking tasks under the supervision of the head chef or kitchen manager.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Help with inventory management by tracking supplies and notifying management of low stock levels.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food as needed.
Follow all dietary department guidelines to accommodate special dietary needs.

Experience

Previous experience in a food service or culinary role is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential.
Familiarity with various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures in a restaurant or catering environment is a plus.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
