OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE — WHOLESALE TERRITORY

Who We Are

Procida Tile is a direct importer and wholesale distributor of luxury porcelain and ceramic tile from Italy and Spain. We are a growing, family-owned company doing $6M+ annually — built on premium product, deep dealer relationships, and doing things the right way. No corporate bureaucracy: you will work directly with ownership, and decisions get made fast.

The Role

You will own an established wholesale territory of 130+ active dealer accounts — kitchen and bath showrooms, tile retailers, and building suppliers. This is not cold-territory building, and it is not order-taking: our dealers don't stock product — they display it. What you are selling is relationships and showroom space. Your job is to win our products a prominent place on each dealer's showroom floor, keep that display impeccable — clean, organized, labeled, current — and maximize what every account produces.

This is a hands-on, field-based position. You will be in dealer showrooms every day: earning display space, presenting new lines, maintaining our displays in a predominant spot on the floor, and building the relationships that make dealers show our tile first. When a display is front-and-center, clean, and current, the account sells — that's the job. If you take pride in how your accounts look and would straighten a display without being asked, you will fit here.

What You'll Do

Sell relationships and showroom space — win and defend a prominent position for our displays in every account
Visit dealer showrooms daily — present new collections and maintain each display: clean, organized, labeled, with current pricing and QR materials
Maximize each account's output — the better our real estate on their floor, the more we sell; win back declining accounts by rebuilding the display and the relationship
Open new dealer accounts, including satellite locations of existing customers
Report field intelligence — product requests, competitor activity, stock gaps — so the warehouse and purchasing stay ahead of demand
Represent a premium, direct-import European product line you can be proud to sell

Schedule & Territory

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasionally later depending on sales calls and travel)
Core territory: Long Island (Nassau & Suffolk), Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, and New Jersey — the large majority of accounts
Day trips: occasional runs to Connecticut and Monsey, NY — no overnight required
Maryland: 1 overnight trip every 3–6 months (6 current accounts)
Boston area: 2 overnight trips every 3–6 months (12 current accounts)

How We Set You Up to Win

Company work van — provided, along with a dedicated assistant who will help you load the van each day, unload at accounts, and assist with showroom set-ups, labeling, cleaning, organizing, and sample board creation. Your energy goes into accounts and relationships — not into building boards at 7 PM. (This is still a physical, roll-up-your-sleeves job — the assistant helps; they don't replace you in the field.)

Route planning and account intelligence: you inherit a data-driven territory plan — account history, decline/growth tracking, visit logs, and restock signals — not a cold binder of names
Premium product behind you: exclusive direct-import Italian and Spanish lines that dealers ask for by name
Direct line to ownership — pricing decisions, sampling calls, and customer issues resolved in hours, not weeks
Industry trade show exposure and product training on new European collections

Compensation

Base salary: $65,000 – $108,000 (based on qualifications), plus uncapped commission — commission percentages increase as new revenue levels are attained, including year-over-year monthly sales beats. You are paid on the growth you create, and the upside is real: this territory has significant win-back and expansion opportunity already mapped.

PTO: 1 week sick and 1 week vacation upon starting
Health: negotiable based on employment package

Overnight travel expenses covered (lodging, meals, mileage where applicable).

Who You Are

2+ years of outside/territory sales experience — tile, stone, flooring, building materials, or adjacent trades strongly preferred
Comfortable with the physical side of the trade: this job involves handling tile, building displays, and being on your feet in showrooms daily
A relationship builder who dealers trust and remember
Organized and self-directed — you own your route, your accounts, and your follow-through
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Able to lift 50+ lbs and be hands-on in the field
