Full Job Description

Position Title: Program Director
Department: Management

Supervisor: Chief Executive Officer

Position Status: Full-Time

Job Classification: Exempt

Salary Range: Based on Experience

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Director is responsible for supervisory oversight, development, and management of direct service programs. Audits programs and ensures compliance with grants and data outcomes. Grant support provided as required. Oversees scheduling, oversight and management of shelter to include HR files for staff and student interns, delivery, evaluation and implementation of services. Updates and manages shelter program procedure manual to reflect programs offered. Program evaluations are regularly conducted for service gaps and opportunities to best serve its mission. Ensure staff are trained to offer appropriate services. Oversight of job trainee program and direct case management for those assigned to onsite job training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Direct oversight of programs located at 5th Avenue including but not limited to: Shelter, Kennels, Community Engagement Space (Training Room, Group room, Computer lab, Play Area/Art space), and Job Trainees.

· Ensure updated and implement procedures for shelter guide and staff trained on these. Ensure compliance with Personnel manual and Operations manual for those supervised.

· Supports case managers and aids in shelter under supervision documented with meeting minutes and agendas noting outcomes and next steps assigned.

· Work collaboratively with the senior management team to integrate cross program activities and functions.

· Reporting maintenance and needs for spaces including safety and security.

· Oversee schedule for shelter and spaces for the group meeting/training spaces.

· Serve as both the agency and client advocate to intercede on behalf of client to ensure equity and appropriate services.

· Provide training and leadership in development of team communication and cohesiveness, sustain culture and support staff to support client success for staff and student interns assigned.

· Ensure staff and student interns assigned to the program have an HR folder maintained with proper supervision notes.

· Oversight and training with Shelter Case Managers to ensure knowledge of case management is carried out and audited in files and client database to ensure client needs are met, activities are monitored, and proper interventions are utilized for resident successful exiting.

· Oversight of shelter aides to ensure safety and stocking of programs.

· Direct case management of job trainees assigned and ensuring HR documentation is completed accurately and submitted for reimbursement to get to them timely.

· Demonstrate consistent quality of administration, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the program goals.

· Enhance and implement organizational vision as established in the Strategic Plan to ensure ongoing programmatic excellence and develop and execute program outcome goals, following best practices.

· Ensures confidentiality with VAWA and HIPAA Compliance with all services rendered.

· Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and represent Safelight in the community to communicate Safelight’s program work and needs.

· Maintains knowledge of local community resources and ensures clients can access needed services via on-site service provision and community providers.

· Attends required trainings and meetings, community events and training as part of the position with staff and partners.

· Managing documentation, budgeting, and reports for maintaining compliance with all contracts and grants relevant to programs assigned.

· Monthly program reporting, client database Osnium auditing and file auditing required.

· For data entry and reporting needs, provides technical assistance, performs quality assurance, and provides training to all staff under their supervision.

· On call for shelter as required.

· Performs other related duties as required to include the flexibility to work occasional extra hours on nights and/or weekends to meet with clients that are unavailable during the day and/or to complete assignments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Accredited University master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a comparable human service degree obtained.

· Minimum requirement: three years plus working in a 24/7 shelter program.

· High-level skills in office suite and reporting databases maintained for job for data evaluation and analysis. Computer literate with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

· Ability to express ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing following agency policies and procedures.

· Possess good interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with attention to maintaining appropriate boundaries and ethics.

· Ability to think independently, work as a team, and make ethical decisions.

· Ability to listen and communicate effectively. Ability to solve problems by utilizing critical thinking skills.

· Ability to stand, stoop, and sit for long periods.

· Ability to lift up to 15 pounds without assistance.

· Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license throughout employment.
