Full Job Description

In this position, you will manage the setup, operation, and upkeep of CNC Swiss-style lathes to manufacture medical implants and instruments. We are open to providing training for current CNC Lathe Operators looking to advance their skills.

Your daily tasks will involve fabricating parts, inspecting components, deburring, and resolving technical issues. You will also assist with new product introductions by optimizing setups and debugging programs. We look for individuals who take initiative to resolve production challenges, maintain high quality, and help us meet delivery timelines.

Your Core Responsibilities

Execute machine changeovers, setups, and program troubleshooting, including making tool adjustments and machine modifications.
Run and maintain Swiss-style CNC equipment, hand tools, and fixtures while ensuring all parts are properly deburred.
Analyze technical blueprints, work instructions, and inspection sheets to ensure precision.
Utilize precision measurement instruments like micrometers, calipers, comparators, and height stands.
Manage production documentation, track work orders, and record quality results using electronic ERP and monitoring systems.
Collaborate with programmers by providing technical feedback and ensuring all setup documentation adheres to change control protocols.
Help the team achieve maximum equipment utilization by providing technical guidance within your assigned production area.
Assist in the professional development and training of colleagues to improve overall team capabilities.
Contribute to the enhancement of quality and delivery metrics by driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure that production schedules are met to guarantee timely delivery of products to our clients.

Required Qualifications

A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory, while additional technical education is a plus.
At least 5 years of professional experience running Swiss-style lathes within a production setting.
Prior experience working with Tsugami, Citizen, or comparable Swiss-style machinery is preferred.
Deep technical proficiency with production processes, tooling, gauging, and machinery relevant to the role.
Advanced capability in interpreting blueprints, managing setup files, and executing machine setups.
A keen eye for part requirements to ensure both functional and cosmetic quality standards are met.
Fundamental knowledge of CNC programming logic.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with management, technical staff, and production teams.
Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and goals.
Ability to carry out tasks and follow directives as assigned by your supervisor.
Dedication to maintaining professional conduct and adhering to company values.
Knowledge of the Avalign Quality System, including compliance policies and the use of Measurement Instruction Sheets.
