Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. This vital role combines front-office administrative support with clinical responsibilities, ensuring a seamless patient experience from check-in to treatment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical terminology, patient service, and clinical procedures, with experience across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will contribute to delivering exceptional patient care and efficient clinic operations in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with the intake process while ensuring accurate documentation of vital signs and medical history
Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate with healthcare providers to optimize clinic efficiency
Assist healthcare professionals during examinations and procedures, including basic life support protocols, medication administration, and X-ray procedures when applicable
Maintain electronic health records (EHR systems) accurately by documenting patient encounters, ICD coding, and relevant clinical notes
Support clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, performing basic physiology assessments, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings
Handle administrative duties including answering phones, managing correspondence, processing insurance claims, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
Collaborate with hospital teams experienced in Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center environments to support emergency medicine cases or complex inpatient care

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or Receptionist in clinical settings such as dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient clinics
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and medication administration practices
Familiarity with EHR systems and medical administrative support functions
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or hospital experience are a plus
Experience working in hospital environments such as Geriatrics units, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), OR (Operating Room), or Geriatrics is highly desirable
Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically in diverse healthcare settings
Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments including outpatient clinics or inpatient wards
