Full Job Description

Browning Contractors Inc. is a leading underground construction company for the Central Valley. We are looking for an experienced Construction Underground Estimator with a strong work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment. Ideal candidates will have at least 3 full year experience of construction and preferable 2 year of estimating. Candidates should be detail oriented and are expected to maintain a professional and positive attitude at all times. Candidates must demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies, skills, and procedures. An ability to quickly learn and adapt to new situations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Analyze drawings and specifications
Understand contractual terms and conditions.
Assemble accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner for stipulated price.
Provide clear detailed quantity take offs.
Organize sub-contractors’ quotations, negotiate to insure quotes meet contract documents and issue proper documented purchase orders.
Complete Budgeting for project. Monitor progress, requisition change orders and identify potential risk.
Formulate cost break down from estimates and for project progress.
Maintain relationships with sub-contractors and clients.
Insure site personnel are provided with proper documentation related to project.
Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labor costing.
Meeting with potential clients to discuss options for proposed services.Reviewing sites and gathering information for estimates for work on existing facilities

Skills & Qualifications:

Hold a valid Driver´s License Class C driver’s license in CA
Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the construction field in similar or related position.
Previous experience in estimating projects preferred.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient with MS Words and Excel

Most work is located within the Central Valley. Weekly hours will average 45+/- dependent on weather and business demands.
