Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are currently hiring a manager for Tremolo Bar, a 60 seat wine bar in downtown Middleburg, VA. If you are a leader with a passion for warm hospitality, incredible food and wine and want to work in a friendly, welcoming environment and are a Sommelier with restaurant management skills, you are the person we want to join our team. Tremolo is the creation of Jarad Slipp, who brought his expertise in food and wine to Middleburg in 2020. Jarad is also a Master Sommelier, a distinction granted to only 284 people in the world.

Responsibilities:

Greet all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness insure their happiness while dining
Be present on the floor to make sure that service runs smoothly
Detailed knowledge of the food offerings including ingredients, preparation, limitations and allergens
Work effectively and efficiently with people at all levels across the company with an open-door policy
Maintain reservation and POS system to keep up with food and beverage menus
Prioritize and multitask with ease in independent work and while delegating jobs to overall team
Cocktail & espresso drink preparation and serve/clear food in cooperation with the team
Maintain knowledge of the cocktails and wines and their preparation
Communicate with management for any staff needs or changes
Schedule routine maintenance of restaurant fixtures and equipment
Enthusiastically share knowledge with staff and customers
Receive direction and constructive criticism well, with a desire to improve and grow
Order & stock coffee, beer, liquor and wine
Maintain and organize bar and wine cellars ar & Wine Cellars
Respond to and coordinate Private Dining Requests in person and via email
Compile daily log and weekly recap for management
Maintain Yelp, Google and Instagram presence and communication

Requirements

Proven management experience in quick service & fast food restaurants or casual dining environments; fine dining or hotel experience is a plus
Extensive background in food industry operations including food preparation, cooking, food safety & handling
Strong leadership skills with experience supervising teams in hospitality or restaurant settings
Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience required
Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently under pressure during shift management
Knowledge of inventory control, budgeting, and food management practices
Culinary experience or kitchen management background preferred
Experience with staff training & development programs; interviewing & hiring skills beneficial
Hospitality management expertise including hotel or catering experience is advantageous
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead a diverse team effectively

Qualifications:

Over 21
Ability to stand for 6-8 hours or more
Must be able to work nights and weekends
Previous restaurant management experience
Intense curiosity to learn about wine, cocktails and related beverages
Be able to lift up to 36 pounds regularly
TOAST and RESY experience is a plus
