Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Patient Service Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks that keep our clinic running smoothly. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure efficient appointment scheduling, accurate documentation, and seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care excellence in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in procedures using various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, E-Clinical Works.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and conduct insurance verification to facilitate smooth billing processes.
Schedule patient appointments accurately while managing multiple-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette.
Review and update medical records, ensuring all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations and maintains confidentiality.
Support clinical staff by preparing patient intake forms, reviewing medical documentation, and coordinating care plans.
Handle administrative support tasks such as data entry, typing reports, managing office supplies, and supporting front desk operations to enhance office efficiency.

Skills

Extensive experience with EMR systems including Epic, E-Clinical Works
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and Medicare guidelines for accurate documentation review.
Proven ability in medical billing and collections along with insurance verification processes.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and health information management software.
Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations.
Prior clinic or office experience is preferred; familiarity with orthopedic terminology is a plus.
Exceptional customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and multi-line phone system handling.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in filing, documentation review, and office management tasks.
