Full Job Description

Lily of the Desert is searching for a Production Planner at our corporate offices in Denton. As a leader in the natural channel, we are committed to making high-quality products and providing world class customer service. This full-time permanent position is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 2-5 years planning/scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.

The Production Planner will work under the direction of our Director of Purchasing to support manufacturing and develop this role to include broader responsibilities. This position requires a self-starter with an analytical mind and solid Excel skills (pivot tables/VLOOKUP). Our corporate office offers a fast-paced yet relaxed environment with a culture best-suited for individuals who thrive working independently but are also comfortable as part of a team.

The successful candidate will effectively collaborate with sales, purchasing, manufacturing, and the warehouse to ensure production schedules meet sales demand, optimizing assets which include both raw materials and finished goods. Attention to detail is essential to monitor and maintain inventory levels, coordinate logistics between facilities and provide production status reports.

We are looking for an energetic and motivated planner who is ready to expand this role as we continue to grow! The ideal applicant will have exposure to manufacturing, logistics, purchasing, supply chain and inventory management, but your soft skills will be just as important since you will be interfacing with production personnel.

Job Duties:

Primary responsibility for creating production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and build a 60-day planned schedule on finished goods utilizing the company's productive capacity.
Understand blending and batching process to aid in scheduling
Create production plans which meet changing customer requirements and yet provide response time to manufacturing to ensure efficient runs
Build inventory on finished goods.
Verify raw materials & components for upcoming production.
Upload new & changed work orders.
Optimize equipment and personnel utilization to minimize machine set up changes and downtime.
Review and revise schedules to meet priority orders
Analyze Demand-Forecast/Planning, and Replenishment by reviewing forecast, inventory on hand, against incoming sales with close attention to items with and without sufficient demand history (e.g. new items, and slow-moving items).
Review daily Inventory on Hand/Transfer reports to ensure inventory to support outgoing orders.
Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reports
Lead Weekly Production Meetings
Maintain Transfer Schedule between multiple locations.
Transfer Semi Finished Goods and Finished between multiple locations.
Track daily production and scrap
Analyze/Reporting Shipment Quantities against forecast quantities.
Item Maintenance

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
1-3 years of production planning, scheduling & inventory control experience in a manufacturing industry, preferably food, beverage, or pharma
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Advanced proficiency in Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to support a team environment
ERP experience and familiarity with requirements planning process. Sage X3 is a plus.
Ability to sit, stand and move about the facility, occasionally lift <10 pounds.
Travel is negligible but may occur.
