Full Job Description

This is a Temporary role that is like to turn into Temp-to-Hire.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. In this vital role, you will manage the company's outgoing payments, ensure accurate processing of invoices, and maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal departments. Your expertise in accounting systems, financial software, and adherence to accounting standards will help us streamline our accounts payable processes, support compliance with regulatory requirements, and uphold the integrity of our financial data. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to efficient financial operations in a dynamic environment committed to excellence.

Responsibilities

Process and verify invoices, expense reports, and purchase orders using various financial software like Global Shop Solutions or similar accounting systems
Perform account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy of payable accounts
Maintain detailed records of all transactions while handling confidential information with integrity
Review and resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoice payments or vendor accounts through effective communication with suppliers and internal teams
Assist with month-end closing activities such as journal entries related to accounts payable and accruals
Support compliance efforts by adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) during all processes
Conduct data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills and double-entry bookkeeping methods
Analyze account data through Excel data analysis techniques for reporting purposes and identify opportunities for process improvements

Skills

Extensive experience with accounting software
Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles as well as governmental accounting standards when applicable
Knowledge of GAAP regulations requirements for financial controls
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and spreadsheet management
Ability to perform account analysis, account reconciliation, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately
Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for precise data entry and bookkeeping tasks
Effective communication skills for vendor relations and internal collaboration in resolving issues quickly and professionally
Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high levels of accuracy in all tasks

Preferred skills and exprience:

Full-cycle accounts payable experience including invoice review, coding, approvals, three-way matching, payment processing, reconciliations, and vendor maintenance.
