Full Job Description

Job Overview
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Medication Access Specialist. This role plays a key part in ensuring patients receive timely access to prescribed medications by coordinating between insurance providers, medical offices, and pharmacies. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, love staying organized, and don't let things slip through the cracks, this is for you.

Duties

Review and process prescription-related insurance requirements.
Track and manage request statuses using internal systems.
Follow up with providers to ensure timely completion.
Request and organize clinical documentation when needed.
Update internal notes and statuses accurately in real time.
Collaborate with pharmacy staff to resolve delays and improve turnaround time.

Qualifications

Strong attention to detail
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding practices such as CPT, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
Experience with insurance verification processes and navigating complex insurance policies.
Excellent follow-up and communication skills (phone, text, email)
Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize effectively.
Ability to catch missing information and take initiative to resolve it.
