Overview

This is an in-person position. Must have trucking or logistics experience. We’re looking for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about precision and organization. Hours are flexible with 40 hours a week guaranteed. Join our dynamic team as a Bookkeeper and become a vital part of our financial operations! In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help us streamline our financial processes, support budgeting efforts, and produce clear financial reports that drive informed decision-making. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills within a collaborative and growth-oriented organization.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and account reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or Quicken
Process payroll and handle accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure timely payments and collections
Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts to maintain accurate financial records in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to support management review
Conduct account analysis and general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
Maintain compliance with accounting standards and ensure all transactions are properly documented with supporting records
Assist with budgeting processes and provide insights through detailed account analysis and financial report writing

Experience

At least 3 years of bookkeeping and trucking experience with a strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping principles
Hands-on experience with popular accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or similar systems
Familiarity with corporate accounting practices as well as non-profit accounting is highly desirable
Knowledge of payroll processing, accounts payable/receivable management, bank reconciliation, and account analysis
Solid understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger accounting, and balance sheet reconciliation
Experience working in public accounting or within organizations adhering to GAAP standards is a plus
Strong proficiency in spreadsheets for data organization and analysis
