Position Overview
The Project Manager plays a critical role in advancing our strategic plan and mission—working together to provide pathways to end hunger in our community—by ensuring our most important work is aligned, executed effectively, and delivers meaningful impact.
Reporting to the Chief Impact Officer, this individual contributor leads through influence. They guide cross-functional teams, bring structure to complexity, and help move ideas into action. This role supports both small and large strategic initiatives, strengthens project management practices across the organization, and builds the capability of others through a train-the-trainer approach.

What You’ll Do
Project Leadership & Execution
· Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
· Define project scope, schedules, timelines, budgets, risks, and success measures, and communicate progress clearly and consistently
· Develop comprehensive, data-informed project budgets grounded in historical and market data, with clearly defined assumptions to guide planning and decision-making
· Facilitate project meetings, decision-making, and stakeholder alignment to maintain momentum and clarity
· Guide teams through planning, implementation, and execution while proactively removing barriers and mitigating risks
· Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive progress, secure timely approvals, and ensure successful delivery
· Ensure project outcomes align with organizational goals, grant requirements, and intended community impact
Strategic Alignment & Prioritization
· Partner with leadership to identify priorities and align time and projects to strategic goals, ensuring timely progress and successful completion
· Support project intake, prioritization, and resource alignment across the organization
· Monitor and report on project performance, ensuring visibility into progress, risks, and outcomes
· Use data and insights to inform decision-making and recommend improvements
Data, Reporting & Insights
· Collect, analyze, and interpret data to track project outcomes and organizational impact
· Develop dashboards, reports, and presentations that translate complex information into clear insights
· Work closely with the grants team to support the acquisition, management, monitoring, and reporting of project outcomes
· Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities to improve performance and effectiveness
Process Improvement & Innovation
· Identify opportunities to enhance workflows, systems, and cross-departmental collaboration
· Design, implement, and continuously refine processes that improve project tracking, reporting, and overall organizational effectiveness
· Apply best practices from project management, Lean, Agile, or similar methodologies to drive efficiency and impact
· Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, curiosity, and learning across teams
Influence, Collaboration & Capability Building
· Lead through influence by building strong relationships and trust across teams
· Teach and model project management tools, practices, and mindsets through a train-the-trainer approach
· Support leaders and teams in adopting consistent project management practices
· Facilitate collaboration across departments to strengthen alignment and shared ownership
Organizational Representation & Stewardship
· Represent the organization with partners, including Feeding America network peers, nonprofits, and donors
· Ensure thoughtful stewardship of resources, including time, funding, and partnerships
· Support internal committees and cross-functional initiatives through effective meeting and project coordination
What It Takes
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent) preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience successfully leading complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
- Experience in data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence (BI) required
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, or similar)
- Ability to build dashboards, reports, and presentations that communicate data clearly
- Familiarity with project budgeting and resource planning
Knowledge Of & Experience With
- Project management methodologies (PMBOK, Agile, Lean, Design Thinking, or similar)
- Cross-functional project coordination in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Grant tracking, reporting, or outcome measurement (preferred)
- Nonprofit or mission-driven work (preferred)

Working Conditions & Physical Demands
This position operates in a typical office environment and requires constant use of a computer and other office equipment, such as phones, calculators, computer printers and copy machines. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 85% of the time.
The person in this position frequently communicates with internal and external stakeholders (food bank leadership and staff, grantmaking organization staff, etc.). Must be able to gather and exchange accurate information in these situations.
This position requires local travel for meetings or professional development opportunities. Infrequent overnight travel may be required. Occasional nights, weekends or on-call work may be required.

Pay: $78,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
