Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the bookkeeping and accounting process, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with applicable regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of financial concepts and the ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy. The ideal candidate will have experience in project invoicing, service delivery, parts, sales and rentals and inventory management.

Duties

Oversee all aspects of general ledger accounting, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation.
Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow management
Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports in accordance with established guidelines.
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections by processing invoices, payments and expense reports.
Oversee collections and ensure timely payments from clients.
Handle sales tax collection and filing.
Assist in handling tax preparation and filing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts to support organizational goals
Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure data integrity in accounting software and files.

Experience

Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in QuickBooks Enterprise or similar accounting software is essential
Familiarity with technical accounting principles and practices with a strong foundation in financial literacy and accounting principles is essential.
Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting is required.
Ability to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision-making.
Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable process.
Experience with collections and sales tax filing.
Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
Experience working within a small to medium size business.
Understanding Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards.
