Full Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Practice Accountant to join our professional team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, regulatory compliance, and financial management within diverse practice environments. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the financial integrity and efficiency of our organization by managing complex accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. The Practice Accountant will be instrumental in maintaining adherence to industry standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, healthcare experience (preferred), and the ability to work collaboratively with leadership in a fast pace enviroment.

Responsibilities

Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant regulatory requirements.
Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing procedures.
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and accuracy of transactions.
Conduct bank reconciliations and cash flow analyses to monitor financial health and support forecasting efforts.
Ensure compliance with controls and other regulatory reporting standards pertinent to practice operations.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations of financial data.
Support budgeting, financial analysis, and variance analysis to facilitate strategic planning.
Maintain proficiency in accounting software in QuickBooks.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects involving tax preparation, regulatory filings, or special financial initiatives such ROIs for equipment, practice mergers/acquisitions or leases/purchase of properties
Mentor Bookkeeper in technical accounting practices, promoting professional development within the team.

Requirements

Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and Florida CPA certification is preferred.
Proven experience in public accounting or corporate finance environments with a focus on financial reporting and compliance.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, securities law, and for-profit accounting practices where applicable.
Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, and advanced Excel skills are essential.
Familiarity with technical accounting issues for cash based accounting entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
Demonstrated ability to mentor team members while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
Knowledge of budgeting techniques, financial concepts such as debits & credits, cash flow analysis, and financial statement preparation .
